The Day of Ashura Imam Hussain

At dawn the Imam glanced over the army of Yazid and saw #"Umar Ibn Sa"d ordering his forces to march toward him. He gathered his followers and addressed them thus" Allah has, this day, permitted us to be engaged in a Holy War and He shall reward us for our martyrdom.
So prepare yourself to fight against the enemies of Islam with patience and resistance. O" sons of the noble and self-respected persons be patient! Death is nothing but bridge which you must cross after facing trials and tribulations so as to reach Heavens and its joys.

Which of you do not like to go from this prison (world) to the lofty palaces (Paradise)?"
Having heard the Imam"s address, all his companions were overwhelmed and cried out, O our Master! We are all ready to defend you and your Ahlu"l-bayt, and to sacrifice our lives for the cause of Islam".

Imam Husayn (A.S.) sent out from his camp one after another to fight and sacrifice their lives in the way of the Lord. Lastly, when all his men and children had laid down their lives, #Imam Husayn (A.S.) brought his six month old baby son Ali al" Asghar, and offering him on his own hands, demanded some water for the baby, dying of thirst. The thirst of the baby was quenched by a deadly poisoned arrow from the brute forces, which pinned the baby"s neck to arm of the helpless father. At last when the six month old baby was also killed, Imam Husayn addressed Allah: "O Lord! Thy Husayn has offered in Thy way whatever Thou hath blessed him with.

Bless Thy Husayn, O" Lord! by accepting this sacrifice. Everything Husayn could do till now was through Thy help and by Thy Grace", Lastly, #Imam Hussain (A.S.) came into the field and was killed, the details of which merciless are heart rending. The forces of Yazid having killed Imam Husayn (A.S) cut and severed his head from his body and raised it on lance.



The severed head of the Holy Imam began glorifying Allah from the point of lance saying, Allahu Akbar".
 All glory to Allah Who is the Greatest!

He had a loud and beautiful voice, on the morning of the day of Ashura, Husayn ibn Ali asked Ali Akbar to call out the Adhan. Husayn ibn Ali, and many women in their tents, began to weep when Ali Akbar began calling out the Adhan, suspecting that it may be the last time they heard Ali Akbar give Adhan.

Ali Akbar stood in front of Husayn ibn Ali after Zuhr prayers and said: "Father I request for permission to go and fight the enemies of Islam." His father gave him permission and said, "May Allah be with you! But Akbar, you know how much your mother, sisters, and aunts love you. Go and say farewell to them." Ali Akbar went into the tent of his mother. Every time he wanted to come out of the tent his mother, aunts, and sisters would pull his cloak and say, "O Akbar, How will we live without you?" #Husayn ibn Ali had to plead with all to let Ali Akbar go.

Husayn ibn Ali helped his son mount his horse. As Akbar began to ride towards the battlefield he heard footsteps behind him. He looked back and saw his father. He said: "Father, we have said good-bye. Why are you walking behind me?" Husayn ibn Ali replied, "My son, if you had a son like yourself then you would have surely understood!"

According to #Bal'ami, Ali Akbar stroke the enemies ten times and killed two or three of the each time. He killed many well-known warriors. No one dared to come close to him in a single combat. Umar ibn Sa'ad ordered his soldiers to kill him, saying, "When he dies, Husayn will not want to live! Ali Akbar is the life of Husayn." While a few soldiers attacked Ali Akbar, Murrah ibn Munqad threw a spear through Ali Akbar’s chest. Murrah ibn Munqad then broke the wooden part of the spear and left the blade inside Ali Akbar's chest, to cause him more pain. As Ali Akbar fell from his horse, he said, "O Father, my last Salaams to you! Here is my grandfather, the Messenger of Allah, giving me my water. He says yours is here waiting for you".He was then surrounded and was cut to pieces.The reason he said this was because after Ali Akbar killed significant members of the enemy forces, he went to Husayn and said he is too thirsty to fight. Husayn was very sad and told his son: "Do not worry, Akbar. After you are killed your grandfather, the messenger of Allah, will give you water that is so sweet, that you will never forget the taste.

History for Death of Hazrat Ali

      Hazrat Ali is the wali of Allah and wasi of the Prophet Muhammad(S.A.W) and Imam.

There are many aayaat in the Holy Quran in his praise and the Prophet Muhammad

(S.A.W) has let behind many hadits in his praise. Every Muslim has faith in Hazrat Ali.

Hazrat Ali was born on 13th Rajab in the Khaana-e-Kaaba. Through out his life he helped the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) and was beside him in in all the wars of Islam and was victorious in all of them too. On the command of Allah ,Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) pronounced him Maula and gave him the title of Ameer-ul-Momineen. This title is only

for Hazrat Ali.

There is no match of Hazrat Ali in his devotion ,generosity , bravery & courage and

character. His virtues are an example to mankind and no words are match in expressing them.

Hazrat Ali (A.S) was martyred with a poisoned sword On 19th Ramazan 40th Hijri Maula Ali went a few moments before the time of FAJAR prayers to the mosque of Kufa. Maula Ali started the prayers

and when he went into the prostration (SAJDA) Ibn-e-Muljim wounded him with his poisoned sword on his head.

The scar was on his head upto his forehead. When the sword struck him , he said :

"BY THE PROMISE OF LORD OF KAABA , I AM SUCCESSFUL."

All the people of Kufa heard the proclaim about Maula's murder . People ran towards the mosque ,

Imam Ali fell down and was putting dust into his wound from the ground. His face and beard were streaming with blood . When Ali was struck by the sword the earth & sky were trembling , a black storm arose , the walls of the mosque shook and the doors were banging . angels calling out that,

"HAZRAT ALI HAS BEEN MURDERED."

The people of Kufa were running towards the mosque . Imam Hasan & Imam Hussain also ran toward

the mosque , both the sons picked up their father and tied a cloth on his wound .Imam Ali told

Imam Hasan :

"IBN-E-MULJIM THE SON OF A JEWISH WOMAN HAS WOUNDED ME."

The effect of the poison was spreading in Hazrat Ali's body. Imam Hasan & Imam Hussain wrapped him in a blanket and carried him home as Imam Ali did not have the stamina to walk . He was fasting.

At the time of Iftar when the fast is opened people of Kufa had arrested Ibn-e-Muljim and brought him to Imam Ali . He was in a very bad condition due to thrist. Imam Hasan had brought milk for Imam

Ali for his iftar. He gave the milk to Ibn-e-Muljim and said :

"DRINK IT YOU ARE THRISTY."

Ibn-e-Muljim said :

"I PURCHASED THIS SWORD FOR 1000 DIRHAMS & POISONED WORTH 1000 DIRHAMS AND APPLIED IT ON THE SWORD.

THERE IS SO MUCH OF POISON ON THIS SWORD THAT IF IT IS SPREAD ON THE EARTH , ALL THE LIVING

THINGS ON

IT WILL DIE."

Imam Ali was martyred in 2 ways , one with the sword and the other with poison. Imam Ali was wounded on the morning of 19th Ramazaan and died on 21st Ramazan.Imam Hasan & Imam Hussain bathed and shrouded

him and when they took his body for the burial , all the doors , gates and walls bended in his honour.

Hazrat Ali was buried at Najaf. Today his magnificent shrine still stands there and is filled with devotees.

May Allah take all of us to His shrine for ziyarat (Ameen).
